Is Malaysia a safe home to send your daughter to school?
Because your daughter's future deserves to start where you feel safe and she feels confident. When you think about sending your daughter to study outside of her home country, you're not just choosing for her a university or a major… you're choosing for her an environment in which she'll live, and a place where she'll build an important part of her future. Therefore, the first question that comes to the mind of every father and mother is: Will my daughter be okay when she is out of my sight and care? It is not just an educational journey, but a big step that carries with it a lot of ambitions, a lot of responsibility, and a lot of questions that deserve clear and reliable answers. Hence, Malaysia comes as an educational destination that deserves to be deeply acquainted with; a country that combines education, cultural diversity, modern infrastructure, and a wide international student community, with an environment in which students can build an independent study and life experience. But at II Study, we believe that reassuring a parent should not be based on general phrases like “Malaysia is safe” only. True security starts with knowledge. Know where your daughter will live, how she will move, what areas are suitable for her, how to choose a means of transportation, who to reach out to when needed, what to know about local laws and customs, and what to do if you encounter an emergency situation. This is why we have prepared this guide to provide parents and students with a clear, realistic and documented picture of safety in Malaysia; away from intimidation, and also away from presenting an unrealistic ideal image. We will take you step by step to learn about the most important thing related to the safety of students: appropriate housing Transportation and mobility University environment Exit and daily life Communication and follow-up Emergency numbers and procedures Health care Local customs and laws Areas that require more caution and how the family can follow up with their daughter and check on her in II Study… We don't want to just tell you, “Don't worry.“ We want to give you the information to let you know why you can be reassured, when you should be more careful, and how your daughter can approach her new life with awareness and confidence. Because we believe that sending your daughter to Malaysia should not be a decision based on fear… nor on blind trust. It is about the right information, good planning, proper selection, and continuous follow-up. II Study We help your daughter start her educational journey with confidence… and you start your journey with her with reassurance
Cultural diversity in Malaysia
Malaysia is considered one of the most beautiful living Asian models of human harmony and cultural coexistence, to the point that it has become known as “Mini Asia.” In this country located in the heart of Southeast Asia, culture was not formed from a single source, but rather resulted from an ancient fabric forged over long centuries of historical interaction between the Malays, Chinese, Indians, and indigenous groups in the peninsula and East Malaysia (Sabah and Sarawak). This unique diversity is evident in all aspects of daily life. Starting from the linguistic and religious diversity in which the minarets of mosques blend with the towers of temples and churches, to the richness of Malaysian cuisine with diverse foods, the multiplicity of festivals, traditional dress and architectural arts. Under its famous slogan “Malaysia, Truly Asia”, Malaysia offers an exemplary experience of the concept of “Unity in Diversity”, an experience that makes this country an open cultural theater and an exceptional destination for international visitors and students from different parts of the world.
