Course Overview
This specialization is concerned with the planning and development of cities, urban and rural areas in an organized and sustainable manner that meets the current and future needs of the population. The student studies the fundamentals of urban planning, land use, transportation, housing, economic development, and the environment, as well as policies and legislation related to planning. It also learns how to prepare structural and development plans for cities and regions, analyze urban problems, and propose appropriate solutions to them, while taking advantage of modern technologies such as geographic information systems (GIS).
