Electrical power engineering is one of the important engineering specializations that focuses on studying systems for producing, transmitting, and distributing electrical energy and operating them efficiently and safely. During the study, the student acquires advanced knowledge in the design of electrical networks, stations, transformers, protection and control systems, in addition to renewable energy applications such as solar energy and wind energy. The major also develops the skills of engineering analysis and technical problem solving using the latest engineering technologies and programs, which qualifies the graduate to work in various energy, industry and infrastructure sectors.
