Course Overview
Mechanical Engineering (Materials Engineering) is concerned with the study of the properties and behavior of engineering materials and how to select and develop them to suit various industrial and engineering applications. The specialization focuses on understanding the relationship between the composition of materials and their mechanical, physical, and chemical properties, which helps to develop materials that are more robust, efficient, and resistant to different operating conditions. It also aims to prepare engineers who are able to contribute to product development, improve their quality, and select the right materials to increase performance and reduce costs.
The most important thing that the specialization focuses on
Study of metals and engineering alloys.
Polymeric and plastic materials.
Composite and advanced materials.
Testing and analysis of material properties.
Material corrosion and methods of protection against it.
Material processing and improving their properties.
Choosing the right materials for engineering applications.
Quality control and ensure conformity to specifications.
